|||
![]() 2006 was the first year the Glen McDonough Memorial Music Scholarship was awarded. Brenna McQuay was selected as the recipient. Brenna, granddaughter of Brian and Dee Gallagher, has shown a tremendous interest in playing the piano. Her mother, Kathy McQuay (Gallagher) and father, Rick McQuay, have supported her and lead her toward her interests in music. Brenna's parents, Rick and Kathy have selected Miss Amy Gardner to teach Brenna piano. Miss Gardner holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and is teaching piano in Garner, NC out of her home, in Chapel Hill and the Community Music School in Raleigh. As of January 2008, Brenna is still taking lessons with Miss Gardner. Kathy says Brenna is becoming a much more proficient pianist and that Brenna is even getting better than her (Kathy). Lets all wish Brenna our best in hopes her Love for music never dies.
